SUBJECT:

IMU5 NON-CITIZEN EDITS
FORMS MANUAL REVISION #1: IMU5 INSTRUCTIONS, PAGE 26 pdf file & IMU5, APPENDIX D pdf file

DISCUSSION:

IMU5 programming has been implemented which requires a date of entry in field 13T for the following individual alien codes:

Non-citizens with these codes are ineligible for 5 years from the date of entry. Refer to Section 0905.010.30 Citizenship And Alien Status (MAF) of the Family Healthcare Manual; Section 0205.040.00 Citizenship And Immigrant Status of the Temporary Assistance Manual; and Section 1010.000.00 Citizenship and Alien Status (OAA, PTD, and AB). The system will not allow approval of an individual if the date of entry is not at least 5 years from the beginning eligibility date. The following on-line edit appears if attempting to approve an individual with one of the above codes who does not meet the five year criteria:

64 Alien code not valid for this type of assistance.

It is necessary to reject the individual from a Temporary Assistance case. Show them as included (level of care “Z”) on MAF/MC+ cases, if there are other eligible individuals.

Any individual with an alien/citizenship code of “I” (Illegal) or “T” (Tourist, student, or other alien legally admitted but not for permanent residence) is not eligible for benefits. The following on-line edit appears if attempting to approve an individual with one of these alien codes:

I28: T OR I ALIEN CANNOT RECIEVE BENEFITS

These individuals can either be rejected or shown as included as noted above.
