DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES
FAMILY SUPPORT DIVISION
P.O. BOX 2320
JEFFERSON CITY, MISSOURI

TO: ALL COUNTY OFFICES
FROM: JANEL R. LUCK, DIRECTOR
SUBJECT: CHANGES TO SUPERCASE RESIDENT MAINTENANCE, ELIGIBILITY UNIT MEMBER ROLE, APPLICATION REQUEST, AND APPLICATION DETAIL SCREENS

DISCUSSION:

The following screen changes and additions are being made as a result of the implementation of the Family Medical Assistance Programs in FAMIS:

SUPERCASE RESIDENT MAINTENANCE (INHOME OR FM0L)

A code has been added to this screen to identify individuals residing outside the Supercase who are practicing joint custody. The “JTC” (“Joint Custody - Living Outside Supercase”) code is a system generated code which displays on this screen when an individual is identified as participating in a joint custody situation and residing outside the Supercase address. FAMIS updates the code to “JTC” after this information is added to the IM Joint Custody screen. This code is only valid for the Temporary Assistance and Family Medical Assistance programs.

After the joint custody information has been entered on the IM Joint Custody screen, FAMIS enters “JTC” in the “End Reason” field and makes an entry of “CS” in the “Ver End” field. This code and the verification of the code cannot be updated on this screen. Changes to joint custody must be made on the IM Joint Custody screen and FAMIS will update the entries accordingly on the Supercase Resident Maintenance screen.

ELIGIBILITY UNIT MEMBER ROLE (EUMEMROL OR FM3Z)

The “Joint Custody” indicator has been added to the Eligibility Unit Member Role screen. This indicator displays a “Y” when joint custody information is entered on the IM Joint Custody screen. As the IM Joint Custody screen only applies to the Temporary Assistance and Family Medical Assistance programs, this indicator only reflects joint custody situations for these programs. Although this indicator displays on the Eligibility Unit Member Role screen for all programs, it only reflects joint custody situations for the Temporary Assistance and Family Medical Assistance programs.

The F20=MEDHIST function has been added to this screen to allow staff to access the Medicaid Category History screen to view Medicaid eligibility information for individuals listed in the MA Eligibility Unit. The Medicaid Category History screen provides information similar to that provided on the IXIX screen. The F20=MEDHIST function displays on the Eligibility Unit Member Role screen regardless of the Eligibility Unit type displayed. However, it only accesses the Medicaid Category History screen if the Eligibility Unit type is “MA.”

APPLICATION REQUEST (REQUEST OR FM0G)

The “CA” code has been added to the “How Received” field. Enter this code when the Family Medical Assistance application was accepted by an agency contracted with the Family Support Division to accept applications on our behalf. When the “CA” code is entered in the “How Received” field, an entry is required in the “Contracted Agency” field on the Application Detail screen. See the next section of this memo for more information on this process.

The “MA” code is now a valid entry for the “Pgm” field. The “Sub Pgm Class” codes that are valid for the “MA” program are:

The “NBN” sub program is a system generated code only. FAMIS will create a “NBN” application on this screen when a child under the age of one is added to the Supercase Member Clearance screen, the relationship of the child shows s/he resides with his/her mother, and the mother was active Medicaid at the time of the child's birth.

APPLICATION DETAIL (FM17)

The Medicaid Application Detail screen has been developed to capture details about the Family Medical Assistance applications registered. The following fields are added and dynamically display based on the program type being requested, the method the application was received, and the type of application (add-a-person, initial, etc.):

A new function has been added to this screen:
