DISCUSSION:
This memorandum is to clarify policy regarding able bodied adults without dependents (ABAWDs) with non-work months used in another state. If an ABAWD indicates s/he participated in the Food Stamp Program in another state, verification of non-work months used in the other state must be obtained. If the individual was not subject to the work requirement in another state (exempt or waived), do not count any months the individual received food stamps in the other state as non-work months.
The Food Stamp Manual, sections 1105.035.10 and 1105.035.25 are updated to include this clarification.
