DISCUSSION:
The purpose of this memorandum is to announce an increase in the resource limit for the Food Stamp program. Effective October 1, 2014, the resource limit for Food Stamp households without an elderly or disabled household member is increased to $2,250. The resource limit for Food Stamp households containing at least one elderly or disabled member remains $3,250.
Applications which are processed after October 1, 2014, will have the new resource limit applied for October 2014 budgets. No action is necessary for applications previously rejected for October on resources. The new resource limit will be applied if the household reapplies for Food Stamp benefits.
